American Uproot, a new American Expat travel series, is now calling for personal, individual and couples’ stories from American citizens working and/or living abroad in MARRAKECH, MOROCCO.
American Uproot is a film project that seeks to create an Expat travel series featuring destinations like Madrid, Marrakech, Nassau and Abu Dhabi where living, working Americans give tours of their new overseas destinations…The places we want to visit, you call home.
This 30-50 minute episode will be filmed in Marrakech and take a peek into the lives of 3-5 different Americans living in this location; what their new lives are like, the struggles they may incur, and their favorite local hotspots.
Who We’re Looking For: We are looking for the quintessential American Expatriate from all over the United States! American citizens living and/or working in Marrakech that have relocated here from the USA and have been living in Marrakech legally for at least 6 months (while we prefer longer, depending on your story, we may consider shorter residence). We are looking for individuals or couples who have a story to tell, who have experiences to share and who may have access to undiscovered spots that tourists might not know about (is your local café in the Medina worth mentioning?). We are also looking for someone who has time to show our film crew 3-5 of their favorite locations within Marrakech. Filming should take no longer than one full day, depending on location and how quickly we can capture your story.
Who We’re Not Looking For: We’re sorry but at this time we are not looking for tourists, anyone who is not living in Morocco legally with a proper visa or resident card, or individuals under the age of 18.

- You must be 18 years or older
- You must speak English
- You must be an U.S. citizen or a former U.S. citizen
- You must be available for the project on the scheduled project date
- You must sign a waiver
